The whole question of blogs and censoring yourself actually came up... I forget where. Either on my friend's blog or on our Housewife Writer's forum. I do think it was the later. I also think it's a common concern - do you just reveal everything on your blog and the hell with what anyone thinks or do you watch what you say because you don't want to hurt people?
My personal opinion is that if you want to write without worrying about who will see what you wrote, then you do a private blog. Or... (thinking as I type) you can make certain blog posts private within your regular blog. That would probably be easier than having more than one. I'll have to look into that but I'm fairly certain you can create private posts and allow only certain people to see it.
A lot also depends on the purpose of the blog. My blog (the real one, not this one) is meant as a means to get me writing every day but not just any writing. Humor writing. That does make it difficult when I'm not feeling particularly witty or if I'm in a bad mood but, for the most part, my blog has served that purpose big time. It does, however, mean I try to steer away from serious topics.
Anyhow, I'm off to experiment on that private post thing...

Okay, I am going to sound like an idiot for asking, but... did the post really say that? Cause if so, that is awesome.

I use Wordpress for my blog and haven't tested this on Blogger yet but here's what happened when I made an entry private. No one could see the post. Instead it said, "You can't read this post. It is a secret. If you are special and have the password you can view it. Otherwise, tough luck! The post is probably all about you but you'll never know."

Well, if you're not concerned about numbers or anything, I suppose you could have a private blog that no one knows about just for your rants. Or, if it's just the writing process that's cathartic, type it up in Word and save it under a boring name that no one would think to look under. But definitely let us know about the private post thing. I'm curious!
