hi heather (and josi), thanks heather for your kinds words yesterday about me submitting an article to the Ensign for my first time. that felt so neat to write that, to feel that, and to submit something i wrote to a magazine. even if they don't publish it, it has just felt really good to try. i just submitted my first fiction short story (murder fiction) to the november writing contest. i posted it on my blog yesterday. it felt amazing to take a first stab at writing fiction. when the story started coming to me these last couple weeks, i couldn't write the words fast enough. that was a rush. i hated that i still had to go to work during those days, but my characters kept doing stuff even while i was at work, running errands, living, anything. and another amazing thing happened. i thought when i turned in my short story yesterday, that that story was done, but ever since yesterday morning, the story has still been continuing and coming at me suddenly, again, faster than i can write. i almost have the whole second chapter worked out, especially the end of it. so glad i happened to start a blog and happened to stumble upon this writing community and writing assignments. wild how things work out sometimes. thanks for your positive encouragement heather. appreciated much, kathleen :)
