Description:
Tonight, Candace spoke with Jay Case on the Philosophy of Terrorism. With a BS in Political Science from Idaho State University, he is now pursuing his doctorate in the same subject with an emphasis in terrorism. Studying under one of the foremost experts in the subject, Dr. Sean Anderson, Jay shed some light on the subject uppermost in the minds of people of all free nations. Jay says, “One of the things we all have to remember is that the highways of the United States are so much more deadly than the terrorists are. More people die in traffic related accidents every year than have in terrorism attacks. Where the terrorists are winning is in the hearts and minds of the average citizen. They have achieved a mastery over the news media of today and are able to spread their propaganda to an every widening circle of potential victims. They are trying to affect political change through fear. “Today the terrorists are being given the name “Islamo-fascists.” Like Adolf Hitler before them, they have learned of the awesome power of propaganda. It has been said Joseph Goebbels perfected the use of “the big lie” during the rise of the Nazi party in Germany prior to World War II. However, he was simply building on the ideas of his master. Adolf Hitler wrote in Mein Kampf: “All this was inspired by the principle - which is quite true in itself - that in the big lie there is always a certain force of credibility; because the broad masses of a nation are always more easily corrupted in the deeper strata of their emotional nature than consciously or voluntarily; and thus in the primitive simplicity of their minds they more readily fall victims to the big lie than the small lie, since they themselves often tell small lies in little matters but would be ashamed to resort to large-scale falsehoods. It would never come into their heads to fabricate colossal untruths, and they would not believe that others could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously. Even though the facts which prove this to be so may be brought clearly to their minds, they will still doubt and waver and will continue to think that there may be some other explanation. For the grossly impudent lie always leaves traces behind it, even after it has been nailed down, a fact which is known to all expert liars in this world and to all who conspire together in the art of lying. These people know only too well how to use falsehood for the basest purposes.” (James Murphy translation, page 134) As long as we allow the terrorists to frame the argument, we will lose said argument. We have to stop allowing them the privelege of using the “big lie” propaganda to get their perverted message out. I heard a quote once that says it best. “Not all Muslims are terrorists, but almost all terrorists are Muslim.” One must ask onself, how is it a society that not only lives in the past, but demands that everyone else does too, is so good at using our technology, our news media, and our educational services against us? It is because we have allowed ourselves to believe they are capable of reaching out and touching us when ever they wish. Their propaganda, their “big lie” is working and we are helping them do it. The the clearinghouse of terrorist attacks website Jay speaks of in the podcast can be found at: http://www.tkb.org/Home.jsp. Another website that he speaks of can me found at http://www.mipt.org. “I am a Child of God” was sung by the Osmonds and can be found and purchased on their Gospel Favorites CD. As always, the ending of the Imagine Podcast is with Gary Morris’ “Lone Star Night” of his “Lone Star Knight” CD.
