Thanks for the response. I am familiar with wood turning. I knew an old gentleman who turned wood for a hobby. I didn't know you could get a piece that big on a lathe. Thanks for the inspiration on glueing turquoise. I might try something like that on one of my projects. Donna

Sew & So asked two questions: How was a bowl made and what was the inlay made of: Woodturning uses a lathe, sort of a potters wheel on its side to hold the wood and turn it while a gouge or other tool is held against the piece. Bowls, containers ("boxes"), plates, candlesticks, etc. can be made in this way. You might Google "woodturning" for more information. The Blue is crushed turquoise dribbled into a groove cut into the rim of the bowl and held there with glue. In this case, cyanoacrylate (crazy) glue. Often epoxy is used for this purpose.
