My dh works for The Man. We are stationed overseas and have been for 2 years now. In the 2 years we have been here we have traveled to other military bases in the country and had a baby.

This month my mom and bro are coming to visit. That means that October is TRAVEL MONTH!!! Travel plans include London, Edinburgh, Dublin, Paris and perhaps a quick jaunt to Amsterdam or Rome.
Or, maybe not. Instead, my husband was informed 12 days ago that he had to leave on October 1 to be in Germany for a class for 6 weeks.

Now travel month will include a trip to a military base in Germany for a quick weekend to see my dh, alone.

I am almost convinced the military bugs our houses to see when we have made plans that they can ruin. On the upside, for 3 of the 6 weeks that dh is gone, mom will be here. Her help will be invaluable for keeping my sanity. I really don't think we could have planned it better if we had been given the opportunity.

I was really looking forward to seeing some sights finally, but this class is needed to make rank and my support system here is magnificent...It could have been worse. Only a year left. We really need to get a move on it.

My not-so-sophisticated dream come true. Posted about 1 year ago

I am almost 31 years old.
I was 21 when I was told I had 18 months to get pregnant or it would never happen due to endometriosis.
My miracle just turned 3. My baby will be 1 on the 30th of this month.

I was sure that I would never be a part of this elite group of women who are called mothers. I was sure that if I was a part of a mothers group, it would be mothers of spastic OCD dogs.

Yet here I am. I'm a mother. I have 2 gorgeous girls. They are my life. My everything. They weren't supposed to be mine, but they are.

I had all these huge plans for myself. Places I wanted to go, things I wanted to experience. Of course they were all incredibly sophisticated things like buy a villa in Italy or France so I could go there whenever I wanted. I was going to be incredibly worldly and know all about fine wines.

My reality is play group, peanut butter, exciting successes with potty training and of course diapers. Not sophisticated in the least, but so much better than anything I ever had dreamed my life would become.
