I just had a 6 day weekend in Ontario to visit my sisters and their families. It was busy, fun, tiring, and wonderful. Due to the 3 hour time change and a early rising 2.5 yr old. I didn't get much sleep the first nights but made up for it in Ottawa.
Thursday
I left early (6 am PST) as we had had snow and ice here so I wanted to make sure I had enough time to slowly drive to Kelowna if necessary. Turns out the roads were nice and dry and past Westwold there was no snow in the area at all. There was lots of gravel as I have 2 new chips in my windshield from travelling behind a semi.
In Kelowna I stopped by one of the offices to meet people I speak to all the time but never meet (for work). It was nice to put faces to names. Then to the airport to wait for the flight to Toronto.
I really like Westjet airline and I got a good seat (in front of the wing). As we were heading east when we got closer to Toronto, we had actually passed sunset which was wonderful to look at behind us. The flight followed the TransCanada highway so when we were over Saskatchewan I was actually close to where I grew up for a few years when I was a toddler.
A passing jet
There was lots of cloud cover below but we did see pockets of the Rockies
The Prairies

Sunset behind us

It's a very small world. The gentleman I shared the row of seats with happened to know my one brother in law who is in the RCMP. He was very chatty which helped make the 4 hour flight go very quickly.
