As September enters, more music fills the mind. Be sure to catch my interview with Feloni @ http://mandrakesocietyradio.com. Especially in the light of how the male-dominated hip hop industry loves to play on lesbianism in their videos, It was enlightening to catch a lesbian hip-hop artist's perspective on that. She's got solid skills and I'm sure will go far.

The Free Design is downright contagious! That's why I they are still my top group. Just got Level 42's latest, Retroglide, and while "Dive Into The Sun" is a very fun listen, the rest of the album (IMHO) suffers a bit from overproduction. Just a bit too many sounds and the drums have an interesting effect on them. I like the songs, however I would've liked more fast stuff.

Also, just picked up Curt Smith 's latest CD, Halfway Pleased. It's a french import. Also a very mellow CD with lots of harmonies. The track, "Coming Out" is my fave so far (also makes me wonder if he's saying something autobiographical with that song).

Have you heard Christopher Denny? I heard the track "Westbound Train" and really dug his voice. I'm talking about a 20-something year old who's sounds like 1930's/1940's country&western! His CD is called Age Old Hunger.

Keite Young, a vocalist from Fort Worth, Texas, has just dropped his newest on Hidden Beach records called, The Rise and Fall of Keite Young. I heard the track, "If We Were Alone" (his duet with N'Dambi) and I dug so I picked up some other tracks. He caught my ear after reading an interview in Dallas South Blog @http://www.dallassouthblog.com/ as he explained the song, Masks (also from this CD):

DSB: I've read where you refer to the single "Masks" as "…the most personally vulnerable song" that you have written. What did you mean by that?

K.Y.: Upon the time of writing, I was conflicted regarding certain subject matter in the song. That is to say, I was raised in the Church and was taught to believe that homosexuality was an abomination before God. On top of that, I was charged to teach others that belief!

Well, as my own relationship with The One (aka YHVH, aka The Source, aka "A List of Names Considerably Longer than My Musical Influences") matured, I decided that a God that "BIG" and perfect could not be angered or offended by any life decision we make.

"God is Love" and Love Is as Love Does. Love embraces, Love uplifts, Love endures. No life choice could change that.

Gotta love that, huh?

Autolect's song, "Doorks" has simply been in my playlist for a minute--the original and the remixes.
