Scripted by God... Written by Scott
Terri is arriving at the hospital at this time. We all need to be praying for the surgeons hands to be used skillfully and accurately to perform the miracle of modern medicine known as a kidney transplant. Many of you have chronicled this for the past couple months. The sacrifice that Terri is making is awesome. There was no hesitation on her part as to giving of herself in the hope of making her father's life better. That's what true love is about... willing to make sacrifices on your own behalf to help others.
The other side of this is her father. Imagine the thoughts and emotions he has been feeling knowing his little girl would have to go through a painful experience on his behalf. He has made his decision to accept the gift.
I can't help but make the comparison of the unselfish act going on here being like the unselfish act God made when he sent his own son Jesus to earth for the sole purpose of dying on the cross to pay for our sins. All he asks is that we be willing to accept Him.
John 15:13 Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.
Many years ago I prayed a simple prayer:
God, I know I'm a sinner. I know you sent your son Jesus to earth to live a sinless life and yet be crucified on the cross in order to pay for my sins. I know 3 days later he arose from the dead. Jesus I'm asking you to forgive me for my sins. I accept you as my Lord and my Savior. I want to spend eternity with you in heaven.
God allows circumstances to happen in our lives in order to draw us closer to Him. My prayers are going out on behalf of Terri's entire family at this time. My prayers are also going out that through this situation lives will be drawn to Jesus.
