Technology today is amazing... until it stops working. I thought my crackberry was toast after putting it in my swim trunks yesterday (no, not in the water!). Those were the trunks I wore at Ft. Myers Beach in March. Although they had been washed there was still a little bit of fine sand in the pocket. Just ask Opalstorm. The sand gets into everything!

As I tried to get the sand off the crackberry the touch-screen stopped working. I panicked! Life as I knew it had changed in an instant! Did I remember how to survive without it? It has been so long I started immediately suffering from severe withdrawal symptoms. I have just reached a personal high buzzrank of 14. I can usually respond immediately to my fellow buzzers every request. How much was I going to have to spend to get another one? Why not just pay the $200 early cancellation penalty and switch carriers to one with totally unlimited minutes (as if 3000 weren't enough) that might have even faster internet connection. They would probably give me a new & better phone for practically nothing!

All day I've been in a daze waiting for my phone to buzz with another email. It wasn't to be... until I took my thumbnail and ran it around the edge of the touch-screen which allowed a piece of sand to fall out. Now it works perfectly. I can breathe now.
