My name is Laura, also known as followthatdog starting way back on craigslist and now it has stuck. I am a mother to two small, mildly insane children. I am married to the smartest, funniest, slightly delusional science-type guy out there. I've also got two big dogs, total marshmallows but they might frighten the innocent stranger from time to time. I work full time in the world of computer software and in my spare time I marvel at how much my life has changed over the past 5 years.

We live in Seattle WA where we are remodeling our 1906 "vernacular" home (whatever that means). It is a cool old house, with the emphasis equally placed on cool and old. I don't think we ever imagined just how much work would be involved in our "this old house" fantasy, but we certainly have no illusions now. Three years in and we are working on a whole new foundation! Maybe at some point we'll actually get the heating system my husband has been promising.
