You see, there is a myth that say writing has to be intellectual. In school, you might have been taught to use Thesaurus to choose more complicated words. To be honest with you, this couldn’t be any further from the truth! Hell yes, you should use a Thesaurus, but to turn complicated words into simpler words!
You see, when you’re writing any marketing piece, you need to write at sixth or seventh grade level. You should never use words people will “trip off,” because it will cause them to lose their hypnotic trance when reading your piece. And they’ll go from a “flow” mode to a “figuring it out” mode which absolutely kills their momentum.
As you know, the general population can only read at sixth or seven grade level, so you have to write clearly without using too much huge words to get maximum understanding. Don’t be mistaken, I’m not talking about “talking down” to your audience, I’m talking about writing your marketing piece, whereby everyone can understand it easily. The fact is, if everyone can understand you, they’ll be influenced by you.
If you want to get a good lesson in simple writing, you can read books by Chales Bukowski and Harald Robbins. Just one warning, these two authors wrote novels that are R-rated, but you will be amazed at their writing styles, as they are crisp and easy to read.
The Truth
You see, there are many writers out there, especially copywriters who believe having the ability to write is all they need to persuade their prospect automatically take their side. To be honest with you, this cannot further from the truth.
The real truth behind is “proof.”And “proof” is the number one reason why sales letter, and any other marketing communication fails. They lack the proof to back up the claims they make. I know you will ask, “Where in the heaven, can I get the proof to create a “meaty” piece? To be honest with you, the answer is “research and lots of research.
As you know, people love facts, solid ideals and real-world benefits, and with all that in your writing, I guarantee your credibility will skyrocket, and your audience will be in hypnotic trance when reading your piece. They will think to themselves, “This person knows what they’re talking about.”
Just imagine you’re making a case in front of a judge and jury, you will need sufficient proof to be able to make them believe you. You see, if you have sufficient proof and facts in your marketing message, persuading someone will be infinity easier.

The Secret To Hypnotic Writing Is To Write Fast
When you write a sales letter or articles, you write whatever ideals comes to your mind. You see, you don’t go back and edit those misspell words, or fix that run-on sentence. You just write, write and write. Because believe it or not, the freshest writing appear when you’re writing freely off the top of your thinking mind, just as if you are speaking to someone in real time.
To be honest with you, you are not alone. I’ve heard and read about expert copywriters such as Gary Halbert and Joe Vitale are people who rely on their writing to make money and also does the same technique. You see, not only does it seem fresher, but it’s the best for curing “writer’s block” which many people complain about.
Let me dig in further, if someone came to you and bluntly said, “Tell me about your widget,” would you scratch your head and think of the words to say? Would you create a sentence in your mind, “read it out” to yourself, and rephrase it in your mind to correct any grammatical errors?

You see, you’ll want to edit the draft several times or take a couple of days away from it and come back to it later with some fresh ideals in your mind. You can also try to read it out loud to a friend or yourself (the former is more effective). I always do the latter, which is read out loud to myself.
By all means, you aren’t done yet. But you’ve given yourself a great foundation to work from since editing is a lot easier than just writing from scratch. So the best and most effective way to create hypnotic writing, meaning writing that jumps off the page and sink the hook of the reader, is to “write and then rewrite.”
Believe me, just try it a couple of times and I guarantee, you’ll laugh at the people who complain about “writer’s block” and you’ll annihilate your competitors who are still scratching their head and staring at their computer screen like a donkey.
Get Rid The Word “THAT”
Another problem that writers have is injecting too many “that’s” in their writing. Below is an example:
- Bad Writing: My friend went to the recruiting center so that he could join the army.
- Good Writing: My friend went to the recruiting center so he could join the army.
As you can see, removing or clearing away the “that” leads to a tighter sentence without changing its meaning. To be honest with you, overusing of the word “that” is one of the bad habits of writers. Believe me, I actually straggled with it myself too until I make effort to actually limit my use of the word “that” in my sentence. Remember this, limiting superfluous language leads to tighter and more flowing prose.

A poor offer and an untargeted list will always destroy the best-written sales letter. The above phrase are called an embedded command. As you can see, the command is not obvious and because of that it evades the left side of the brain that deals with logic and this make the person reading it compiles without knowing it.

Presupposition Device In The Sales Letter
Here’s another ultimate device that was used in the 12 Month Internet Millionaire. If you look after the order box, it say :
“What will you do with the extra $500, $5,000, even $50,000 per month you’ll earn when you implement Vince James’ marketing secrets into your online business?”
This sentence illustrate an image that you already making the kind of money you can be making when you employ Vincent James’ secrets. As you can see, the sentence is a question, and that is why it will automatically force the reader to answer it in their mind.
