I grew up in Los Angeles and despite all advice I spent 15 years as in advertising. I actually loved when I did it, but alas all good things come to an end. Our all woman agency closed due to the combination of a not so honest CEO, and the dotcom crash in 2001.

After that I had to get a job -on the way home from an interview at a powerhouse agency -the "If you don't show up on Saturday don't bother coming in on Sunday kind - I had a my room mothers "more kids should be able to experience this" and so an idea was born. We wrote a business plan and decided to start an American History camp for kids - a mini Williamsburg if you will. We bought 40 acres in rural Washington near Bellingham and got going. Unfortunately things haven't gone as plan. But when does that ever happen? We've started a heritage farm of rare animals that were common in colonial America like Milking Devon cattle, Cotton Patch geese, Oberhasli goats and then there's Miracle the wonder donkey.

We are still pursuing our dream but unfortunately, we haven't gotten funding YET so Tom has to stay in Los Angeles and pay the mortgage. Which means, I function as a single mother to Henry.
