... you go to two different stores just to get special ingredients for a recipe you're "sure" will be the best thing ever, slave over it for two hours, make a slew of messy dishes pile up in the kitchen and grease up the stove top only to find out your spaghetti sauce from the bottle tasted better?

I agree. I gave up a loooong time ago on spaghetti sauce recipes. Now I just brown the meat, cook the spicy sausage, and pour in a jar of gravy.
