Apparently Google is getting more aggressive on combating spam blogs and shutting them down. On the surface, a very good move. Not on the surface, many blogs, which are not spam are getting "locked" as well.
I had heard in many forums about many bloggers, who definitely were not spam bloggers, getting their accounts locked and felt a cursory feeling of regret for their plight. Some of them claimed to have never gotten the issue resolved with Blogger/Blogspot and fled to other blogging platforms.
I created a new blog yesterday and in less than twenty-four hours Google has it locked as a suspected spam site. If they receive no response within twenty days the blog will be permanently deleted. (Believe me, I've responded, quite vehemently.)
How I discovered this was by logging into my account and seeing this notice on my Dashboard. I went through all the steps to protest and figure it will take a long time to get this issue resolved, based upon the trouble many other bloggers have been having with this issue.
I've been with Blogger/Blogspot with various blogs for almost six years, and until now have never had a major issue with them. Generally, in some of the forums I frequent, when the Blogger/Blogspot bashing begins I defend them for the most part.
As stated earlier, I just created this blog yesterday. It has one post and as I've reread the post I cannot for the life of me figure out why the blog has been locked. Anyone who cares to take a look and can enlighten me go here and check it out:
But oddly, spam determination can be a tricky thing. For you see, Yahoo has determined that Google is spam. When I went to my email account, under Yahoo, the message from Google informing me that my site was suspected spam, was in my bulk folder as suspected spam. Perhaps Google should be "locked" out of their website(s) until this issue is resolved as well.
So take that Google!! (And hurry up and get my blog back to approved status. I don't even like spam and will go hungry if that's the only thing to eat.)
