We have found a home. We will be renting from my in-laws a house that sits in a cul-de-sac with speed bumps! I initially balked at renting from family, but the management properties wanted our soul and The Norseman's parents know that we need a helping hand right now!
His sister is mad because she offered one of her rentals, but she has been known to be difficult and allready mention sending us to collections. Not a good way to start and it was more for filling her empty property, not helping us.
My mom had a birthday last sunday, so I bought her the cutest vera bradley turquiose and blue and individually everyone else gave her the same color garments. No planning it just ended up that way!
For Mother's day she got two 16oz Tervis tumblers with cardinals inside. They are from the 40's and have a neat history. They are also bulletproof and insulated cups. Perhaps the original ones? We have a nest of cardinals here, so it fit. Also my dad always has his drink in the freezer or fridge and it is good to go in both even the microwave.
My daughter got me a really cute votive and candles with "her money," the boys picked out some madras cropped pants and a shirt and a cover-up/nite gown tiedyed with symbols. They also got some lotion for me.
From all of the kids and new dad, I got a vera bradley too, its one of her pink lines for breast cancer. A lil' smaller than usual, but I will be able to find my cell phone now! Amazing how they know just what to get me....wink, wink.
Things are working out as planned, which further makes me believe this is right. I know that bad decisions have problems from get go and everything is working itself out!
Our car is fixed and so no more worries there. I am starting to get excited. Yes, lots left to do, but my faith in this adventure is at full speed.
Now its just time for the hubby to get atleast a part-time job and we can scrape by until he graduates. With things on track it should be soon!
Its almost time for the journey to begin! We have allready laid the ground work, now we put the plan in action!
Oh, the house has a built in china hutch so my wedding china that I had never taken we will be able to display! I am sure my mom will be finding out if it is still being made or have to use replacements. My oldest siter got the rose chintz that I really liked, but Oh well. I have a steamer trunk and a wardrobe made by hand and hopefully all the things from my dad's many travels.
Happy Mother's day to all!

It's tough to rent from family, but as long as everyone's on the same page it should work ok. Just be sure to get a lease and make sure everyone's clear on the rules, family or not.
