Well, this picture was taken on my 24th birthday. My birthday happens to be New Year's Eve, so at about age 16 I started insisting that my birthday be made a HUGE DEAL. Fast forward to this picture. My now husband and I had been dating for almost two years and I was ready to be engaged. He got me a Happy birthday crown, the shirt around my shoulders and camera bag as gifts, and the giant ring? Well, he thought he was SO FUNNY. He knew I was expecting a ring for my birthday so he got me a giant diamond ring paperweight and said "see!? now you can't say you didn't get a ring for your birthday!" Jerk. Lucky for him we got engaged just a few days later :D
