I'm just a country girl from Kentucky, born and raised (& livin' here still!)

I have been a Kentuckian since 1967; a big sister since 1971; diabetic since 1975; a Christian since 1976; a wife since 1985; a mom since 1989; a homeschooler since 1996; a insulin pumper since 2004; mom of a homeschool high school grad since 2006; and will soon be a mother-in-law in 2008 (july 12 to be precise!)

Other stuff about me...

our 23rd anniversary will be exactly one week from our son's marriage; our future daughter lives with us while our son lives with my parents; our son recently surrendered to the mission field, wherever that may be; our youngest son is a state champion archer; he's also an awesome basketball player; he will be old enough to drive in a little over a year; besides diabetes, I also suffer from thyroid (Graves) disease, tendonitis, depression, chronic diabetic peripheral neuropathy, migraines and arthritis; (good thing I'm "only" 40, eh? --truth? I feel LOTS older) I love backyard birds, butterflies, flowers of all kinds and my mini (but FAT) poodle, Tucker; I also love mustard/turnip greens, homemade chicken & dumplin's, French Silk pie and chocolate ice cream with Corn Flakes.

Beyond that? There's not a lot more to know. ;) I'm a goof who loves to laugh and read and sing.

I'm really a very simple gal who has a thing for the complex... or rather, it has a thing for me!!
