So the new photo added to the photo album is a "Peep Carousel" I finished using old cardboard, some paint, glitter and-- you guessed it-- Marshmallow Peeps.
You can view a tutorial on how to make it here:

I will be vacuuming glitter up possibly until next Easter. :)
You may have noticed my photo album now is knee-deep in sheep.
Why, you ask? Well, for one, Easter is coming and I was able to thrift all these cool 1950s sheep planters.
And 2, years ago in college, I'd had a weekly comic strip called "Shearadon and Woolworth." They were both anthropomorphic sheep who wore red Chuck Taylors...
You know, as sheep tend to.
Anyway, even though I'm not a country girl, sheep always just sort of make me smile.
I blogged a bit about finding the planters, if anyone's interested in reading that:

Someday I'll see if I can locate my old Shearadon and Woolworth comic strips, so we can laugh together at my drawing skillz. :)
I'm going to be trying a new feature on my Blogger blog as of today. Each Wednesday I'm hoping to post a little about the specific thrifted finds discovered over the week. This gives you all a chance to go "virtual" thrifting with me. And, plus, I just think there's so many cool things out there, why not dedicate a day to share?
I'll still be posting my regular thrift "field trips", discussions on vintage items, decorating, craft projects and other goodies on Sundays.
So thrift on!
And if you have a minute, come see the fun treasure from this last week here:

This week on my blog I'd written about some rather funny and questionable recipes found in a couple of vintage cookbooks. You can see that here:

But this triggered a conversation among some folks I know about just what we'll find quirky and bizarre in cooking and design years from now.
Sure, it seems obvious that a 50s Jello-mold filled, not with sweet fruity Jell-o, but a terrifying tomato aspic with Worcestershire sauce is at the very least going to surprise the average guest.
But what will horrify our palates in the future? We roll our eyes now about Martha Stewart's Bionic Woman housekeeping abilities... Will we laugh with mirth over her paper-bootied lamb shanks? Will we chortle over recipes that claim to be time-savers, because we have machines that do our cooking for us?
It'll be interesting to find out what foods fall by the wayside. What styles cause us to laugh out loud (that don't already!). What preparation methods suddenly disappear. Will microwave cookbooks become all the rage to collect... simply because there are no microwaves?
It's fun to consider
Hi, Everyone! Thanks so much for the pleasant welcome!
I am still trying to figure out how it all works, and what I want to include, but I expect to get my sea legs with this soon-- and am really excited to be here.
Just so you know the plans, I intend to use the Photo Gallery area for various decorating and craft projects I'm working on, as well as any inspiration photos or things that just make me laugh.
I'm sorry I'm a little slow in responding to all you good folks who were kind enough to stop by already. I promise to have more time to connect with you all in the next few days! It's all a little bit overwhelming to start with.
Thanks again, everyone, for being so nice.
