If I could choose 8 people, living or dead, over for dinner, I'd imagine it to be much like this:
You'd see the eight of us, sitting there on a blanket covering the sand by the ocean on a warm day with the gentlest of breezes. As you near us, you would see me (smiling), and to my right would be my husband. Next to him would be my parents and then my brother. Sitting next to my brother would be my Grams, most likely blowing the contents of her drink through a straw and onto my brother. Beside Grams, you would see my grandfather (Gramps), who never got the chance to see his granddaughter born. You'd see the cute little wrinkles around his eyes and how his eyes lit up when he talked. To my left, you'd see Jesus, and in His lap, you'd see my daughter, Lorelei playing.
And then, we'd turn around and invite you to sit down with us. You are my eight. Together, we'd make nine.
And as for dinner? Jesus brings dinner.

Oh, there is a place on my Cre8buzz blog on my page where you can post the link to your writing assignment so others can see it if you'd like to.
