I had a very productive evening, even if I didn't get a chance to actually make more soap. I got oils measured for two new batches and the main oil ready for my Monoi de Tahiti soap.

Now there's something worth a pause. If you've never run into this lush oil before, take the next opportunity you see to do so. Monoi de Tahiti is an organic virgin coconut oil infused with Tiare flowers, a type of tropical gardenia. The oil gives everything it's in a gorgeous, totally natural floral scent--not too sweet and far from fake. I make a soap using just that gorgeously-scented coconut oil and pure Grade A olive oil. It's a luxury bar but worth every cent, especially since I usually include a soap saver so the buyer can get every heavenly bit out of it.

But now, back to the subject--soy wax candles!

I needed a white candle that I use around the kitchen for various things, so I poured that 16 oz candle and found myself with a little extra wax. I couldn't resist--I added more wax, melted it down with a jade green color block and made up enough wax for half a dozen beautiful votives!

Here's my favorite part of the votives I made today--I scented with a Polo type fragrance oil and it's just gorgeous! The cold throw is amazing and I can't wait to burn one tomorrow, but I might have to because I'm going to make that same scent in soap plus make up a batch of Eucalyptus soap with the real essential oil in my vegan formula. There's nothing better for a sinus problem or cold--it's so soothing and comforting that I always keep a bar around in the wintertime.

I promise I'll post pictures as I get them--meanwhile you'll just have to drool as I do.

Anyone interested in soaps or anything else I do is welcome to PM or comment somewhere here and I'll be glad to help you.
