Description:
Kamikochi is located in the Japanese Alps and we were staying at the hotel at the Taishoike pond. I woke up around 5AM and snapped this photo from the hotel window. Used film: Ilford FP4+ 125 ASA. I have entered this photo in the Kamikochi yearly photo competition and the Wanderlust competition. Please rate.

You can't beat haze at dawn and monochrome photography... well captured...

That is truly a lovely photo. I feel like I could rise along with the mist.

Great shot. What I like about it is that it contrasts the abundance of evergreens, and the starkness of the two decayed trees - almost like a split image. It's like going to a Christmas tree lot, seeing the magnificent trees, and then the Charlie Brown tree all alone. Very nice! Good luck in the competition.

Tight pic, it has a fantastic feel to it, on the surface appears cold and stark, however as you continue to view it begins to warm you, soothing you from the inside out. It has a wonder calm to it. Thanks for sharin' Welcome to the buzz money. Peace dawg!

An excellent capture, and well worth the 5am start! I love the way it looks like the water is evaporating, like steam from a hot bath.
