Well, we went to St George this weekend which is at the western bottom corner of UTAH. Which means we had to drive through the majority of utah to get there. A ways between SL,UT and St. George is a winery that specializes in all fruit wine, except for grapes.
Strawberry Wine,
Apple Wine,
Pear wine,
peach wine
We were very excited to add this as one of our stops.
UNFORTUNATELY the winery closed down forever on Dec 29th 2007. And we didn't find out until we were practically at their doorsteps.
Needless to say we were very saddened by this news. . .Especially because we have been thinking about going down there for the past 6 months -- and we acted upon it a little too late :-< . We do have plans to go to ANOTHER winery in Moab at the end of summer, beginning of fall...about harvest time. Hopefully they don't have any plans of closing any time soon.!
HEre is the map of our journey. Scale is approximate
Well the only other topic in the wine forum was Corvettes. So I decided to throw one up there.
Its not the most deep and insightful question in the world but its a good question for startsies.
Take a peek.
BIG OL PS! I'm sorta lame for being in the wine community and then never ever talk about wine- :-S Oh well. I will tell you that even though I'm having difficulties being a expert wine blogger- i have no problems being an expert wine drinker!!!
That read took me a little longer with the holidays and the teeny tiny font and all.
I really enjoyed it. It was written in a way i'm not used to. Not really a biography in the traditional sort of way- I really felt that John Krakauer told and used Chris McCandless story as sort of a platform for not only Johns own life but for fellow Supertramps less heard of. Haven't seen the movie yet I was trying to read it in time for it to go to the dollar theaters...but that didn't happen. Guess I'll just netflix it!!
My new read is Cesar's Way by Cesar Millan. I'm getting a lot of good tips to be an awesome owner for my two boys!
