why it's important to get your kids braces now if they need them. Her husband had to get them as an adult and, to save embarassment, he went with a new method where they do surgery beforehand to limit the amount of time braces have to be on.

Warning, the post is graphic, there are pictures of the surgery with blood and teeth and all. The post is interesting on two levels- for those of us adults who want to get our teeth fixed up, but don't want the 2-3 years of having to wear braces, and it is also interesting to parents who are wondering whether it's worth it to pony up for braces for their kids. Long story short, it's worth it.
