On March 25th, I had weight loss surgery & gall bladder removed. It was the first day of a new beginning and a day to re-gain my health.
And before you ask... YES, I tried diets for 18 years. Doctors diets, weight watchers, low carb, soup diet, rice diet... the list can go on & on.
And YES... during all these diets I would walk between 6-8 miles a day, and ride a bike between 10-15 miles a day. I even took exercise classes at our community college 5x a week.
It all started after the birth of my second child. But I didn't find out for several years that I had PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome). No matter what I did I was slowly gaining.
Eventually I got a host of health issues. And it got to the point that everytime I went to the doctor I was told I had another disorder, syndrome or disease. Diabetes, mvp, anxities, severe depression, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, hypothyroidism, gallstones, high cholesterol, back problems etc.
I understand that the surgery will not make all my health issues go away. But if I can do anything to save my life from one, and make my life a little easier I did it.
I understand that wls is a tool, and not the complete answer. I will still have to fight and pray that the pcos doesn't bring all the weight back. But I have to try. I am tired of feeling like a 70 year old woman at only 41. (Did I just say "ONLY 41"?)
Before the surgery I also had 3 series of 2 spinal injections, at this time it has helped extremely. I had spent the last 3 months of 07' in bed or not mobile because of a bulging disc.
At this time I have lost 26.1 lbs. And feeling better daily!
