So,

My wife and I had this discussion about Santa Claus, and whether or not to let my son know if there really is one or not.

My wife is from Hong Kong, and she said she doesn't see why we have to let him believe, "the lie."

She said, if the time comes and Raiden asks her if she believes in Santa Claus, she'll just tell him the truth. I know I was kind of heartbroken when I found out, "The Truth," however, I still had to believe that there is some good in the world, and therefore, I will pass on the knowledge that my parents have left on to me. If you do not believe, then you will not receive.

I wonder, though, in the moment of truth, when Raiden looks into my wife's eyes, with all the innocence of the world, will she crush his hopes and dreams by telling him there is no Santa Claus, or will she buckle under the pressure?

She posed the same question to me. My reply was, I will tell my him that there is too much good in the world, and that it is better to give than to receive. However, one should believe that if he or she is good, then the person shall receive tidings of great joy. And yes, I believe there is a person in this world, who rewards children when they are good.

Hopefully, that answer will confuse him enough to make him think I believe...Either that, or just say, "Go ask your mother."
