Umm. Hrm. How to start. How to admit this.

Ouch. Excuse me, I shifted a bit wro- OUCH.

Umm. Yeah. See, we keep the cat food and dog food out in the garage to keep the little darlings from eating it all. And last night - wait, it's 2 a.m. now, so that makes it night before last - I went through the kitchen. Moved the folding chair aside and bumped the dog gate aside. Stepped down into the foyer. Opened the door to the garage. Stepped down the two steps into the garage and went to feed the animals.

Or, that's what I thought I was doing. 'Round about "stepped down the two steps into the garage," I missed. I mean, I missed a step.

Turns out I broke BOTH bones in my right leg, down near the ankle. What they call "spiral fracture." Think about a roll of biscuits that you "pop" and the package kind of unravels in a spiral.

My pain tolerance is so high I simply thought I had sprained my ankle.

Surgery is imminent.

I still have no job and no health insurance (wonder if I can immigrate to Canada before I have to have surgery).

For the first time in my life - seriously - I have filled a prescription for pain meds. And, I'm using the max dose at the earliest time.

So, if I'm really quiet - I'm probably in pain or looped out on this stuff. Then again, I may be really babbly and over-active here. Ya never know.
