Dia Dhuit ... and other things Posted 6 months ago

So, a few people wanted to know what the heck I was scattering around the buzz this time. I mean, the ROT-13 cipher was maddening enough. And the flipped text was pretty funny. But Dia Dhuit?

It being St. Patrick's day and all, and myself being a wee li'l bit Irish, I trotted out one of the two Gaeilge phrases I recall. Dia dhuit essentially means Hello.

I was going to post a section of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone in Gaeilge, but I seem to have mislaid my copy. (Yes, I also have it in English)

Anyhow, if you need a wee bit of an Irish fix, try:

It's not a bad little phrasebook.

Slán!

Thanks for the guide--I'm not good with languages unless it's the naughty words.
