BusyDad's cre8Buzz Blog
I need to change my About Me. I no longer have a 4-hour commute. I'm also probably not gonna be so busy anymore.
If you value job security,
If you value not being at the mercy of one man's whim,
If you value being rewarded for growing your customer base by 15% every month you've been there,
Don't work for a start-up.
I got a nice resume. Any takers?
Or just chat with me. How's that? I'm making moves to become more connected with folks all over the web. Blogging has been a ton of fun and it's brought me out of my shell. This here is an open invitation to all buzzers to connect with me, so as to help me liven up my day as a cubicle jockey.
I am now on:
Facebook: look up jim@busydadblog.com (trying to sift through all the Jim Lin's may take you up to 2 weeks)
Windows Live Messenger: same - look me up by my email

StumbleUpon: BusyDad
Ok, that last post was from the hip, not very thought out and under the influence. Not that there's anything wrong with that. I have just had a morning to think about it (read: my kid woke me up at 7 and I went to bed at 3am!) and make this movement more 1) organized 2) purposeful 3) more inclusive. Hear me out:
I would like to start a virtual movement called the Weekend Blog Hoppers Club
Why?
We parents often find ourselves stuck at home on weekend nights with not much more than a bottle of wine, glass of whiskey or 4 Coronas. And we loooves us some blog hopping. I know in our past lives we also loved us some bar hopping. We could get nutty with our friends, talk a little shit, be a little less restrained. I want to replicate that feel within the constraints of our reality (there's a kid or two or three sleeping in the next room who really wouldn't appreciate you sneaking out of the house right now).
How?
The rules are simple. To join this movement, you need to:
1) Surf other Weekend Blog Hoppers' blogs and drop comments freely.
2) Sign your comments as your Weekend Blog Hoppers alter ego (mine is BuzzeeDad). I know that if you are on Google Blogger you can't change your ID - that's ok. Do like this:
Whhhaaatttssssuuup!! I love you man.
- BuzzeeDad
3) For any comments that you get from a fellow Weekend Blog Hopper, cut em a little slack because it's all in good fun. Don't read into it, don't get offended -- we're all friends just letting it all hang out, virtually. Drinking while commenting is HIGHLY encouraged, but of course not required.
4) Visit other cool bloggers who might have fun with this and recruit them for the movement.
What I will do:
I am going to get an official Weekend Blog Hoppers Club logo made (Judith Shakes... where aaare you??) and build a section in the BusyDadBlog that lists all members (with a link of course! Always sharing the love), along with their Alter Ego name, so fellow members know who might be hopping your way.
If you want to proudly display that logo on your site, please do so (and link it to the membership page so everyone can see who's playin).
Since I really don't want to be the ONLY member of this club, please comment below and leave me your Weekend Blog Hopper Alter Ego name. I'll be sure to include it when the official Weekend Blog Hopper section goes up.
So, who's in? Remember, it's about fun, but as this thing grows, we can all grow our weekend traffic too (joeprah I'm talkin to the traffic whore in you).

Ok, so as parents we love Fri nites. Why? Because we get to go out drinking with our friends and cause trouble all night? Not exactly. Because there's no school the next day and you don't have to stress out about making your kid's lunch and getting him to bed on time? yeah, closer.
Well, if you know me at all, I'm a lemonade making kinda guy. If I'm stuck at home, at least I have my two favorite things with me. My Jack and my blogs. I've been drinkin and commentin for some time now, but I recently came across Huckdoll's blog (she's a cool buzzer - go say hi) and she apparently does the "dirnk n blawg." Same concept, catchier name.
Well, now that I feel better knowing that I'm not the only degenerate parent around (give me credit - I'm only a degenerate AFTER Marcus has been put to bed), I have more confidence to try to start a movement designed for other degenerate parents to replicate the spirit of those Friday nites that we have forever lost. I call it the Friday Nite Drunken Blog Hop (FriNiDruBlHo? ... um scratch that). The rules are simple. Drink, Blog Hop and comment. So that you know I'm Blog Hopppin, I'll sign my comments BuzzeeDad. That way if I say anything that causes embarrassment or crosses lines of decency, you can attribute it on the libations.
Who's in? Hey, if this is gonna be a one-man show, I'm more than willing to make a fool of myself solo. I'm taking this fishbowl with me now...
Cheers!
BuzzeeDad
