Have all the Answers

I used to believe the CEO’s or founders of start-ups have all the answers. I think we all assume cause these really smart cats came up with a slammin’ idea or product they must have the whole thing planned out in their head and know exactly what has to be done. I can tell ya that is what I expected of our founders. For quite sometime; I assumed the boys had it all planned out and had all the answers.
What I’ve come to learn is that it’s really not that way. The founders don’t have the answers, in some cases they don’t have a clue. They are struggling to figure out what the next step is and what they need to do and how they are gonna do it, just like everyone else.
They idea that the founders or the CEO have all the answers is not real. Yes, they have good perspective and yes they may a lot of the answers but in the end, they are makin’ it up as they go along. They boys said it best; “The biggest lesson we have learned is to accept we DON’T have all the answers and to look to others (our users, friends, mentors, etc) for direction and ideas.” “We don’t think we will make it any other way.”
Now; I’m wondering how many other founders or CEO’s accept this to be true. It takes a bit of humility to accept ya don’t have the answers; especially when everyone is lookin’ at ya with this, “now what boss” expression on their faces.
I think there might be a few more successes to celebrate if more folks said; “I don’t know!”

Sure, admitting you don’t know can mean eating your pride… but only a fool claims to be a know-it-all, even if he knows more than anyone else.
‘The boys’ ain’t fools!
There is a reason why ants have the power they do, it’s because they work together in everything they do.
We are all in this together!
