The iPhone is awsome and NOT getting it is the BEST move you can make!
Popularity: 11%
So I’m sitting here watchin’ and readin’ all the hype on the iPhone. And, Yup, I’m jealous. I’m thinking I want one of those. But, like any other rash decision, a little time goes by and my urges subside.
Aaahhh, Time. The best friend and protector from my id. Give time a chance and he will wear down my impulse and save me from jumpin’ in too early. And, in this case, I owe time some love, cause not getting the iPhone is the best move you and I can make.
The iphone is slammin, there ain’t no way of gittin’ around that. It is the first fully functional PDA targeted at the general consumer and not the business set. But, because it is so tight, is the exact reason NOT to get the iPhone. The success of the iPhone will spawn countless copies, competitors and alternatives. Device manufacturers are watching closely and they will make every attempt to make sure they get a piece of what Apple has started.
Being first has it’s advantages for companies, but it is not always best for consumers. Sit back, let the bubble grow, see what happens and then take advantage, you’re not loosing out. (well except for a little ego stroke from your friends for being first, but that is one hell of an expensive ego stroke) Apple has blown open the door.
Even if no one else can out do Apple and it’s pretty little iPhone, Apple can. Trust me, I have that first generation iPod, check out those raised buttons instead of the wheel. Ugh, isn’t that crazy old school?
Patience my friends, it may seem like your missing out, but the ride has just begun. It is only gonna get better from here, courtesy of Apple. Thanks Steve!
Peace, I’m out!

Great observation, I should have expected as much!
Personally I don’t get it. I use a Palm Treo, and there is not much the iPhone can do my Treo can’t, and I have a built in QWERTY keyboard to boot. It’s just a ‘cooler’ package, and if coolness were a factor I’d be better off investing that 600 big ones in a couple of pairs of Jimmy Choos or something. At least the shoes wouldn’t be obsolete in 2 years, or drop to 99 with a 2 year contract….
