Rupert Murdoch is a genius . . .
Popularity: 11%
or Yahoo has just lost their marbles. OR, maybe I’m the fool in the group.
Check it ya’ll. Have ya heard? News Corp has offered a “swap.” Myspace for 25% of Yahoo (I have also read 30%). Let me spell that out for ya, so ya don’t have to use to much of the gray matter. Yahoo has a market capitalization of 37 BILLION dollars. That is correct ya’ll 37 BILLION dollars. (I say that with my little finger tucked just under the crease of my lower lip)

So what Murdoch is saying in his first gambit is, Myspace is worth, drum roll please, 9.25 BILLION dollars. Holly shit! He bought it in the summer of 2005 for the rock bottom price of 525 million dollars. Shortly after that he signed an exclusive deal to put adds on Myspace with Google for 900 million dollars, generating a neat profit of 400 million dollars. Now, 2 years later he is looking to get a almost a 20x return. Damn that boy is smart.
I’m thinkin’ somethin’ is stinkin’! I have to be missing something, cause it just don’t make no sense. Even Yahoo! with all it’s troubles isn’t that dumb . . . are they?
Can someone help me out hear? What am I missing?

That is crazy. I have a MySpace account after being twisted into it. I hate it. It is ugly and hard to use. I have no friends either, so what good will a friend site do me? Am I the only one?? LOL….

Never had a myspace account…. Murdock is rolling in the money. He has made some shrewd business decisions, and so many hate him for it.

They were smart to sell it, that’s for damn sure. Myspace may look like a cash cow, but it’s a bloated, dying one.

If MySpace was a country, it would be the 11th largest country in the world!
