Qualified?
Popularity: 4%
Bob Greifeld CEO of the Nasdaq stock exchange doesn’t know how to calculate gross margin percentage. (Nasdaq Chief lacks skills in accounting) That’s right, he admitted under oath that he doesn’t know the difference between a 38% mark-up and a 38% gross profit.
How does this happen? How is Bob Greifed able to run the Nasdaq Stock Exchange not knowing such a basic account formula? How was it determined he was qualified? How does "qualified" get calculated? Who participated in this decision. More importantly; who didn’t get hired because he got the position? I don’t know the answer, if you do let’s hear it. What I do know is that too many qualified people get overlooked. The person best positioned to get the job done, to excel is far too often not the person with the "credentials".
Credentials are only a part of the process. No matter who or what you are judging, don’t get caught in the trap of the surface, the looks, the credentials. Dig deep, get to the core. Do your homework.
Remember; it is about getting the best not the best looking!
