When I met her I liked her…
When I talked to her I liked her more…
She was a good mom, a strong friend…
She loved her family very much.
She talked about her beliefs with sureness.
She wasn’t afraid to say what she thought.
She exuded a confidence I wanted to model.
And even when things weren’t right with her sometimes,
she’d hold herself up and continue to be strong…
I never saw her artwork until afterwards…
And what I saw just amplified my impressions of her tenfold…
It made me wish this beautiful artist could keep on creating…
Showing us a way of seeing that not everyone can…
Her pictures of horses… her sculptures…
Her unfinished glass mosaic artwork… frozen in time…
I see her creating her artistry wherever she is,
and I know it is full of life, like she was…
