35,000 people. That’s how many extra bodies Denver is holding right now. 35,000 politicians, members of the press, personal assistants, celebrities, and most importantly, BLOGGERS.
Did you know that one blogger from each and every state in the US received credentials to cover the entire Democratic National Convention? That means that every time you flip on CNN, there’s a good chance that, if you look into the crowd, you’re going to see someone blogging.
Why? Because people are catching on. Blogging is THE new medium. We aren’t just silly people with a hobby. We are serious, we are important, we are the new face of media. We are capable of changing the world. Yes, even if you write a mom blog. People are taking notice of YOU.
I had the privelege of beginning my journey blogging in that same little city that is all over the news right now, Denver, Colorado. It may not be my address anymore, but it’s my home. Over the course of the 3 years I was living in Denver and blogging, I met an amazing group of bloggers. We would occasionally get together, have drinks, and argue politics. We called our little nights out The Rocky Mountain Blogger Bash. We randomly numbered them, randomly themed them, and randomly remembered bits and pieces of them the next day. Of course, when it came to light that Denver was hosting the DNC, we had no doubts…we were throwing a bash for all of the visiting bloggers.
Plans were made, rooms were booked, and then we hit a little roadblock. The one and only sponsor we’ve ever had for one of our bashes backed out. Without telling us.
Panic striken, we almost cancelled the event. And then we remembered that THIS IS COLORADO and Coloradans kick butt. So, a few calls were put in, and you’ll never guess who offered to help back our event.
CRE8BUZZ, THAT’S WHO.
Yes, Antman and the crew not only agreed to join us that night, they provided us with financial backing. To me, that is the strongest testament to how much Cre8Buzz believes in what they are doing, how much they believe in us. 50 credentialled bloggers, dozens more in town for the convention, will all be able to sit down together; mom bloggers, political bloggers, food bloggers, green bloggers, Republicans, Democrats and Independents alike, and have a beer and talk to each other. I thank Cre8Buzz from the bottom of my heart for helping us make this unprecidented blogging event possible.
If you’re going to be in Denver, please join us. If you’re not, please swing by Antman’s profile on the buzz and say hi. Let him know you’re still around and that you believe in what we’re doing here. Because you can bet, he still believes in you.

Well, how cool is that?!! Made me wish (momentarily) that I was in Denver, rather than on the east coast.
Can’t wait to read about how the bash goes!!

Great piece on the Blogger Bash and Cre8Buzz’s generosity! It just goes to show us what a warm and supporting place Cre8buzz is…there is no wonder for me why this is my favourite social networking site above all others…
