I needed to thank everyone for all the support and prayers you have offered in light of  my dad’s kidney transplant this week. This is from my blog’s weekly update for the Faithful Fridays contest hosted by blessed1:

“QUIT YER BITCHIN” FRIDAY - WEEK 4

Bet you didn’t expect to hear from me today, did you?  HA! That’s the beauty of the scheduled post! As you read this, I should be lounging around in the hospital, popping some pain pills, marveling at some ugly scars down in my middle region, trying to decide if I can feel a noticeable absence of my left kidney and hopefully walking down to my dad’s room to hang out with him and his new kidney. But I’m not going to let that keep me from posting my blessings for the Faithful Fridays contest!

I’m not feeling like making a list of blessings this time around. There is just one blessing this week that I want to express my thanks for; one MAJOR blessing; one spectacular, loving, incredible group of people who have made me feel so blessed lately:

BLOGGERS!

All of you who stop by to read my blog; everyone on cre8buzz; all of you stretched out across the miles who have become more than just another internet contact. You have read my story about my dad’s kidney transplant and how I’ve been preparing to donate my kidney to him. You have responded so generously with heartfelt words, prayers and virtual hugs. You have offered to help in any way you are able. You have responded with humor and love. You have helped me grow in my faith.

You have all overwhelmed me with your words and generosity. You brought tears to my eyes time and again as you have wrapped yourselves around me and my dad and shown me the depth of your hearts. You have humbled me with praises for my “bravery” when deep down inside I remember how many times I haven’t been brave, haven’t been the best person I could be, and how many times my selfishness has prevailed in my words and actions.

Bloggers… you are an amazing, varied, unique and beautiful group of people. Words can not express how thankful I am for all of you. You have carried me along and kept me afloat on this incredible journey. As I write these words, I don’t know how the surgery turned out and can only hope that everything transpired even better than I could have hoped. I will be home from the hospital sometime on Saturday and will post an update as soon as possible. In the meantime, all of you… too many to name… are in my heart.

Love to you all!

And now you’ve brought tears to my eyes - for just being who you are.
I am awaiting what I know will be good news about the surgery, and can’t wait to share in it with you when you return!
Meantime, the prayers are still surrounding all of you!
