How are the AntHill and I alike? What drew me into the whole idea of a community blog like the AntHill? One word…CAN’T.

I have always been a person who hated being told “You can’t do that.” From the get go, I was always challenging authority, pushing limits and frustrating my parents by constantly trying to prove them wrong. If somebody tried to hold me back, it made me try even harder to break free from their grip. If people tried to squish me into a mold, it motivated me to shatter it and defy their perception.

I was told that I couldn’t handle seven kids. Yet I do it everyday. I was told that I couldn’t carry my last baby because of that IUD accident, but I did and he is perfect. I was told that I couldn’t be a stay at home mom and a business woman. I just opened my event planning business last month and business is booming. I love the emotional fuel that people provide with their verbal road blocks. It fans my flames of determination and hurls me right through their silly little orange cones.

When I first heard about the AntHill, it sounded like any other community blog. Several contributors, different genres, yadda yadda yadda. However, I had already been a member of Cre8Buzz, so I knew that it could certainly not be ordinary. Cre8Buzz defied all of my preconceived notions about social networking, so I was immediately excited to see what the Anthill had in store. My suspicion is continually confirmed as I watch the AntHill grow and shun the word “Can’t.” There are, of course, so many who try to put up road blocks and scoff at our ability to break the mold. It makes me smile to see how our community always seems to bust right through them, leaving such skeptics in the dust.

There are such amazing people here. They are people who refuse to be poured into a mold or stagnate in their own complacency. The AntHill is constantly facing challenges and proving their ability to rock the limitations that people love to place on those who think progressively. It is what makes me fall in love with this place and these people, every time I visit. Together, there is nothing we are held back from accomplishing. Together we redefine the word:

C reative Collaboration

A lways

N ets

T remendous Talent

That’s great! I love your attitude and how you use what would be otherwise considered as negative as a springboard for success.

You’d make a good cheerleader, Kadi. (And I wonder which one of those seven is going to give you a run for your money, like you did to your parents, haha.)

I love your take on this! I also love how you’ve taken that negative and turned it into - not only a positive - but YOUR positive.
Great post - and you prove your own point about the talent here!
