If you’re a Mac user, the Preview program contains everything the amateur needs to clean up a photo, from cropping to level adjustments. Even adding basic textual watermarks is simple via the Annotate tool. Preview’s editing abilities appear to be integrated into iPhoto’s editing tools, but the fact that you can do so much in a preview program makes me a happy camper.
