In every war there are ups, and there are downs. This week I had an up. Which is actually a down. I gained 1 pound. If I had lost 1 pound, that would have been a down, which; as we’ve seen, is actually an up. I’m just confusing myself now, I can’t tell which way is up and which way is down. I do know that I became a little too comfortable after the week one 11 pound loss. Losing 2 last week was good, and didn’t require that much effort. I think I took that a little too far this week and didn’t put in the effort I should have. My reward for my ambivalence was a 1 pound step in the wrong direction.
The positive to be taken from this, though, is that I am still down 12 pounds in 3 weeks. I’ll take that. Now, if I get focused, and stay focused, we should be able to move that number further south. Nukegirl and I have decided that we will walk her to school at least 3 days a week. This will help with the waistline and the pocketbook. Most illegal drugs are now cheaper than gasoline, so saving a few gallons here and there will surely help. Hopefully next week you can call me a loser.

Sounds like you’ve got the right attitude, Nukes! Focus on the 12 pounds that are gone! Next week, I bet you’ll be a “loser”–in the GOOD kind of way!

Are you saying that you’re going to resort to illegal drugs now? LOL
Keep on keepin’ on, and don’t look back. You have a great attitude.

Attitude is most of the battle! I had a week like yours, a tiny step in the wrong direction….but that’s behind, so don’t look there!
Next week you’ll be a “good” loser, I’m bettin’ on it!

Just remember that muscle weighs more than fat. As you exercise and your muscles grow stronger, you may be losing fat weight but gaining muscle weight. Since you’ve been walking, your leg muscles are getting stronger. What happened to you is typical in the third to fifth week. Your body just has to find the seesaw point of fat loss versus muscle gain. Don’t worry about it.

we gotta get you a new scale dude! Thing looks like a bloody crime scene!
seriously though, keep it up. It’s easy to mail in it for a week I know. And unfortunately the longer you are at it it seems the tenancy to want to mail it in seems stronger.
Fact of the matter is you are 12 pounds lighter than when you started. You are 96% the man you once were!
