A business blog has been much tougher for me to write and maintain than my personal blog. I can not be as spontaneous and take the same risks for fear of alienating customers or being off-message. I was off to a good start when I realized something was missing - READERS! Self [...]

I returned home, July fourth, to find a disturbing…no, horrifying comment on one of my blogs. It informed me that a fellow Supernanny parent, had committed suicide. My heart sank into my stomach, as I read words that could not, in my mind, be possible. I had seem Scott Terrill’s episode of Supernanny. He seemed like a loving [...]

I have had time to consider lately where I’ve been, where I am, and what the new possibilities are to where I would like to be - and it occurred to me that I have a unique perspective.
On the one hand, I see a future (not mine, I’ve decided) when I look at how my [...]

As a family, we eat out A LOT, too much, really, but who’s counting?  Many times, it’s for convenience, if we are on the go and don’t have time to cook dinner before a night of activity begins.   We are also a house full of picky eaters and frankly, it’s a lot easier to eat out than  [...]

Yesterday I innocently opened the trunk in the office that holds the kids’ shoes & backpacks from school when this rotten stench came flying out - ugh!   As soon as I looked down I knew it had to be Sissy’s fault. Her & that lunch box of hers! Imagine…food stuffed in there since school [...]

TerriTerri and I were discussing hot peppers and she was talking about how her husband has some crushed habaneros.
Here’s how the conversation went:
Me: I’ve had all kinds of habanero everything over the years. At my favorite Mexican restaurant a while back I ordered fresh habaneros and took a bite. I’ve done it many times before. [...]

You know, I have always seen myself as someone who encourages others to do what they can and be what they can with the gifts that they have been given, but as I have assumed the role of being a father I have found this to become even more important.
In my past post about the [...]

( I have to thank this awesome chick for encouraging me to post this here. Birdie is the coolest!)
My dad has been a diabetic since 1948, when he was eight years old. Growing up, I always knew my dad was diabetic. It was just a part of who he was. On a daily basis, I would watch [...]

Some of you may recall the Friendly Toddler Competition post from last month. Well, it seems as though my daughter’s friend in Los Angeles is bringing her A Game with her rendition of “Take Me Out to the Ball Game.” She is almost a full year older than my daughter so I expect this little [...]

As part of a weight-loss plan we’re starting, my wife and I are on this great new diet. We’re substituting breakfast and lunch with a high-protein supplement called Almased. It’s based upon soy and honey and milk proteins, supposedly with some magical triune blend of ingredients perfectly balanced for humans.

Yeah, whatever. Anyway. It’s not bad, [...]
