A multiple Sclerosis (MS) Support Group has been set up in Uist to support individuals with MS, their families and carers.The group is set to hold its first meeting on May 28 at 7pm in Tagsa Uibhist, Benbecula.
NHS Western Isles Family Health Nurse Sheila Murray and Speech and Language Therapist Christine Lapsley will facilitate the group - which will meet on a regular basis to provide support and the opportunity to discuss issues relevant to the condition. Alison Maciver, NHS Western Isles Multiple Sclerosis Coordinator, will also attend the first meeting.
It is anticipated that the group will be a source of information and offer support to improve the lives of the people and their families who have been affected by the condition.
