Ok guys we've heard you loud and clear, ya want RSS Feeds. Ya want to be able to subscribe to folks on the buzz. So it is coming. As we build it, we want your opinion. Ya'll haven't steered us wrong yet.
So, what are you thoughts? How should we do it?
Our thoughts, we will allow you to subscribe to profiles and if you subscribe you will be notified anytime that person makes a change; adds a new blog post, new picture, podcast etc. You will be notified in your Mystuff and with an email notification that "so and so" has added a new blog post etc.
So what are ya'lls thoughts? What do you think we should do? We are listening.
Thats a great idea. What about as well as that feature - the ability to subscribe to just one part of this persons stuff.
For example I might not care if so and so uploads endless videos or music but might be really interested if they add a new blog post or up load a new photograph.
I think it would be great to have the choice, whether you subscribe to that person and then you get a notification for everything or if you subscribe to a particular part of someones profile.
Also, how are you thinking of giving the notifications? Personally I would rather it wasn't as a cre8buzz email. If you subscribe to a lot of people you don't want 50 or something emails to open. the system isn't the quickest at the best of times ;)
Will people be able to see who you have subscribed to or will it be private? It might be nice to be able to see who people with similar interests are subscribed to.
So many questions... I know, i know. I shall go away now and stop bothering you :)
You are all doing a great job by the way. Thank you.
Jeez.
Okay, I'm all about it! Just please don't make me try and figure it out...what with my ongoing, ever perplexing, battles with my own RSS feed an all!
You guys are bril! Can't wait to see the uncomplicated magic unfold :)
I too would love RSS Feeds - but would also like to see WHAT portion of updates (Audio, Video, Blogs, Pictures, etc...)I want to see as opposed to ALL updates.
I agree with Farmer's Wife about the email notifications. If there is another way of notifying I think that might be better.
Hmm it's a tricky one, there are already more messages from cre8buzz flying into my mail box than from all my other sources combined (except the spam that gets through!) and though that IS the buzz and much better than an empty mailbox, If I was as profligate with my subscribing as I am on Mo'time, then it would become a chore wading through them all. So from that point of view, a single email for all types of posts by one person would be best. I think though, that an indicator on the persons page of which box contains new material would be good otherwise you're rooting around in there..
On another tack, could we join multiple communities 'cos I like to write, photograph and rant liberal politics at the very least!
Frewin
It would be great to subscribe to aspects of someone's profile, allowing us to be selective, maybe blogs on one and pictures on another.
I wouldn't want to be getting this as emails as it would take ages to go through and has to be done from the inbox. I would prefer true RSS feeds that can be subscribed to.
I don't know if this is the same thing, but I'd love a place were I could "Buzz" someone else's content. Kind of like the Top 8 posts things, but it would list the stuff that I liked on someone elses profile.
Okay so that's totally not the same thing, but I thought I'd throw it out there. In terms of RSS I like Farmers Wife's suggestion.
I'm with The Farmers Wife and Co. Please let me pick the things to which I'd like to subscribe. Kids are cute. I love kids. I have three of them. But I don't necessarily need to know every time little Johnny makes a peepee in the potty via vlog.
IMO, I would like to be able to subscribe (through my google reader via RSS)to cre8Buzz individual cre8Buzz blog entries (i think if someone has great audio, video or pictures they should add a blog entry linking the photo/video/audo). I would also like to be able to have the ability to have the the individual forums available via RSS feed. It would make it a lot easier to keep up with the forum conversations and I think that would keep the forums fresh, interesting and more interactive.
