What do you celebrate?
December 23, 2007 13:33

At this time of year - end of December through to the beginning of January there are various Christian and Pagan festivals .....

what rituals or celebrations do you take part in at this time of year?

What, if anything is special about this time for you?

I celebrate Christmas primarily as a Christian, but I also honour the winter solstice as a time of reflection and rebirth. To me our Christmas tree represents the evolution of the spirit - the refinement of our spiritual energies. Spending time sharing food and gifts with family and friends makes this time special as well as preparing for new experiences in the coming year.

I went to your blog first and posted my comment there.

We celebrate Christmas like you said. I like that you also add so much meaning to winter solstice and the tree. So many of us do things without really thinking about why.

My husband's birthday is Jan. 3, Mom's is Jan 6, sister's is Jan 17 and brother's was Christmas day. So we celebrate a lot of births along with Christ's.
