So I thought it would be good if we took a moment and introduced ourselves to each other. Maybe to give us a starting point?
My name is Amber and I'm a chocoholic. (Hi Amber)
I live in Utah but I consider Las Vegas to be home. I'm a desert rat and I'm not looking forward to the impending winter. Fall is okay. Winter is BAD!
I'm a SAHM to four little girls ranging in ages 8 down to 2. They keep me busy, but I'm good at ignoring them too. My DH is an accountant in every sense of the stereotype and I love him for it.
I'm his complete opposite in almost every way. Where he is neat and orderly I thrive on chaos, where he is thrifty I am spendy, while he likes numbers I like abstract ideas like creative writing and music.
I love to decorate cakes and would like to make it a profitable business but I don't think that's going to happen anytime soon. At least not until I've got the money to dedicate to a commercial kitchen. Until then it's a hobby and a sometimes moneymaker.
I play the piano, and used to be a percussionist (Drummer). I love to read and write and am trying to figure out what project to work on next as far as writing is concerned.
So- what about you?
Hi, Amber.
Hey, I'm in Utah too--dude, we should like meet up at Applebees for four hours and take funny pics together even though we've just met and then go to walmart and buy each other presents. Oh... wait. We did that. Oh yeah. Cool. Good times.
Anyway, I'm Brillig. Actually, I'm NOT Brillig. I'm just a girl who writes under that name. My real name is...
...drumroll, please...
HAHA. Seriously? Did you think I'd tell you people my real name? Just rest assured that it's a gorgeous name and that if you knew it you'd name all your daughters after me. Or something.
Hi, I'm Brillig and I'm addicted to babbling.
Going now.
Great idea, Amber, by the way.
I'm Candace and learning as I go along!
just figured out how to get to the forums.
feel part idiot and part just happy to have figured it out!
Hey, I'm CableGirl. I'm a recovering academic (too many degrees to count) and an old school punk. I love history, mythology, tattoos, piercings and funky hair. I'm currently training to be a Kung Fu coach and personal trainer. I've from the NorthEast US (Boston Rocks!!) but I've lived in many different countries and places. I'm currently in exile in Miami and I'm waiting for my sentence to be up. I figure I've got about 4 years on the clock.
I'm married to a computer geek (to borrow Amber's words) in every sense of the word and I love him for it. My daughter is going to be 10 months old on Monday and I have no reservations abotu saying that I'm SO glad the first 3 months are over with. I love being a mother. I hated the 4th trimester.
Amber, I'm heading out to Vegas to visit a friend next weekend. Any suggestions of things I just can't miss? She's taking me to see Love. Did I mention that as well as being old school punk I love the Beatles? Yeah, my music tastes are rather eclectic.
Oh yeah, and I tend to ramble.
Hello,
I'm The Farmers Wife and I've never been to Vegas or Utah and couldn't find either of them on a map if my life depended on it.
I am English but now live in the North of Finland where winter is slowly approaching and I'm not looking forward to it one bit. Well, ok maybe the bit where I get to take Little Moo sledging for the first time will be pretty cool.
The Farmer (who is indeed a farmer, and a fisherman and a hunter, and yeah - is a fairly stereotypical hunter gather type man)and I have a little girl, Little Moo, who is about 14 months now and has just started figuring out what door handles are for, oh yippee.
I have a tendency towards being long winded but try to inject little humorous bits in so that you don't notice how long it's taking me to get to the point.
I put children's TV on in the living room to hypnotize my daughter so that I can spend time on the computer.
I am sarcastic, bitchy and use foul language quite a lot in my writing.
Oh, and I'm addicted to Pepsi Max and can't write without a glass of it beside me.
Brillig- hi! We should get together sometime at applebee's again. Seriously? Most fun in recent memory.
Hi candace! Glad you're here. :)
Cablegirl- 4th trimester is SO HARD. Although I do love the newborn stage- I hate the waking up to feed them every five minute thing. Plus the sore boobs.
What to see in Vegas? I'm not a fan of the strip since I don't gamble, drink, or like naked women (I know!) But- don't miss the Bellagio fountains or atrium. Seriously fabulous. I hear the Wynn is also fantastic (but I've never actually been). My favorite things in Vegas are off the strip. Red Rock is a beautiful State park with gorgeous canyons and rock walls. If you like to rock climb or hike it's a can't miss. Also Lake Las Vegas. It's just outside the city and is like a little European Village set on a man made lake. They generally have free (and pretty good) concerts all late summer/fall long. Also? Wonderful Gelato. (Not even sure I'm spelling that correctly). If your looking for another show you can't miss Blue Man Group. SO FUN. So those are my recommendations.
If you have questions about specific things I can probably tell you more.
The Farmers Wife- My dh and I fantasize about selling everything and moving to the middle of nowhere and running a farm. Until we remember that neither of us know how to do that. I'm also longwinded. ;)
Sensible One- I've not read your blog yet- but I'm going to go look for those stories...

Hi everybody
I'm Jo and I'm a 32 year old mum to Miss E (7) and Miss M (2).
I live in the UK in Nottinghamshire, you know, Robinhood land, and I love wine, chocolate and wine, and chocolate.
I'm married to Mr B, a drummer, and I love seeing the funny side of things.
I'm an aspiring writer and am working on a book of comic poetry with a friend, and a book aimed at young teens.
I've been blogging for about 4 months now and I love it.
And I still find the word poop funny...
(Sorry)
So, I'm a bit late, as always. But I loved reading these intros. This is one COOL collection of women! And it just got cooler....
(totally kidding)
I'm Jenna. I'm recently remarried to this guy I met on the internet and together we have 6 kids. Not a typo, I'm afraid. Yours, Mine, and Ours. Loads of fun here, though. We have kick-butt family party nights. And I am not afraid to wipe the floor with the kids to win. And we're big on karaoke too. If you listen carefully, you can hear us singing.
I like to read and write, of course, and make cool cakes, and homeschool, and cook, and garden, and do yoga. I also like to save tons of money with coupons.
I live in the L.A. area. Not my choice at all, but since my husband is an actor, I didn't have one. Thankfully, lots of people come to Disneyland and can visit me, and CA is growing on me.
Hey there...I'm Taylor Blue. I am 32 and have two children a daughter 11 and a son 4. It's weird to think that both of my kids are in school now.
I have a mom's blog and an entertainment blog...that I love almost more than my husband...but for now only my entertainment blog is listed here.
I work at home and I try to manage the house and my work. It hasn't been working so good lately.
I love meeting other MOM's....
