I thought it would be a rather nice thing to gather together any hints, tips and tricks about this place to help people out when they are just starting to find their feet.

for free customized profiles. It is easy to just copy and paste the codes into your own custom theme section and you can change them around a bit, add your own backgrounds, change the colours etc should you want.

And one HUGE one that we'll talk about more when the holiday weekend is over is INVITE!!! You all have invitations--use 'em! Invite friends, fellow bloggers, people you know from other groups. People who might be interested in the community aspect of cre8buzz, people who want more exposure for their writing or their pics or their blog or their eBay store or WHATEVER. Use those invites!!!

How to add stuff to your profile.

If you want to add things like chat widgets, blog feed widgets to your profile it is very easy. Simply get the code for the widget, spring widgets (http://www.springwidgets.com/) is a good one for blog feeds and paste it into your custom theme area in the position you want it.

If for example you want it directly after your About Me section then simply look for the bit that says cre8Buzz-about-me and paste the code directly after the closing bracket.

How to move boxes to different columns and positions on your custom profile.

If you don't want the boxes appearing in the default position it is very easy to move them around. simply open your edit custom theme section and scroll down until you see things like cre8Buzz-about-me and cre8Buzz-my-link-gallery.

If you read carefully you will see that each of these boxes is set under headers left sidebar, right sidebar or main. Simply cut and paste the box you want into the desired position.

For example if I want to move my About Me section from the left sidebar to the right sidebar first I find cre8Buzz-about-me, cut it (including the opening and closing brackets surrounding it) and then paste it into the list of items under the header right sidebar. They will appear on your profile in the order of the list so if you want it to appear at the top you must paste it directly above what is already the top box.

Oh, it works best if you register a meebo screen name at meebo.com. And, you can add this chat room widget to your personal blog, wordpress, typepad, myspace or facebook sites too!

Thanks for all the tips. I have a question--well lots of them, actually, but one for now since my brain is overloading here.

How do I join the Writer part? I seem to be signed in as Women, but noticed on someone's page that there are lots more sections. Can't see how to access or join. I know it will be another "Duh" moment when you tell me :-) This site is full of them for me.
