Just chatting

My 1 and a bit year old daughter is currently outside playing in the rain with no pants or nappy on and any attempt to bring her in or put more suitable clothes on is met with tears and tantrums before she wanders off, goes very quite for a while and then comes back with no clothes on again and I catch her letting herself out of the front door!

Damn it, why did she have to grow tall enough to reach door handles? and since when did she learn how to take her nappy off?

I can see some interesting stains developing around our house in the near future...

What you up to today?

Finally got her in, dried dress more appropriately for the cold weather only to burn my bloody cake! Grrr!

took me ages to make the damned thing as well cause my electric beater dies on me this morning. Might be time for a quick trip to the shop for a store bought one to pass off as my own...

Thank goodness for privacy fences, as we are in the suburbs and my kids love to run around like that! Especially if it's raining!

I got up to cinnamon rolls and snuggles from my youngest, my morning has started out great :)

Try putting her diaper on backwards (I think that is what you are talking about when you say nappy). My daughter used to take hers off when she made a poopy. She used to love to finger paint with it. When I put the diaper on backwards she couldn't get it off anymore.

As for running around naked in the rain, sounds great!

I wonder at what age you stop wanting to take all your clothes off and run around in the rain? Ok, so if it was warmer I'd think about joinging her but in the cold? Na-a, no takes. i'm just fine here watching through the window.

good tip about the diaper (yes diaper and nappy are one and the same) Shall try it out tomorrow.

Have just put her to bed for the night and am now sitting down to do some written with a large glass of Vodka and coke. umm, maybe I should try and get some of the writing first before I tuck into the vc? But it taste sooo good.

My kids all went through the "taking off the diaper" phase. I used to put them on backwards too because I was tired of finding it smeared all over everything.

As far as her running out, that was a problem too with my oldest. We needed to install a hook and eye lock at the top of the storm door to keep him in. We also have an alarm system that has a function we needed to use. Everytime a door or window was open we would here a beeping noise. It definitely gave me peace of mind.

My almost three year old is currently running around the house stark naked! I promise, I did dress her :) She likes the freedom I guess.

Consider this fair warning that it doesn't necessarily improve as they get older lol!

My 7 year old still prefers to be naked as much as possible. He spent the majority of this summer in nothing but underwear. It's just easier that way. No battle over clothing and there's a heck of a lot less laundry to do.

Try moving to the suburbs with boys 9, 10 & 12 who are accustomed to living in the mountain forest where they got really dirty and had to strip before entering the house. It took weeks to remind them to at least get in the garage before stripping butt naked.

Well, my husband is 52 and he still loves to take of all his clothes and run around out back, rain or shine! (Yes, we have a privacy fence too!) Just don't drop by unannounced! OK, maybe that was too much information!

My three year old does it, too.
