Because a few people have asked today about profile templates and I can't see it written anywhere else here:
There is a lovely chap called khenny (well, I would imagine that's not his real name but you know what I mean) who has put up some custom templates and the code on his profile all free of charge.
If you are looking to add background images and change font colours etc I believe that the easiest way to do this (if you have a little knowledge of css) is to use one of his templates and then make some modifications. He doesn't mind, really.
Also, if you have no idea what css is and really don't care he is taking requests for ideas for new templates. This is what he has to say about it:
"If anyone is pining for a specific look in terms of colors or graphics, I'm open to suggestions for future themes - just please be patient and understand I may not be able to fulfill every request."
You can also copy one of his templates and replace his background images with one you find on the net. If I find something I like, I save it to my computer and then upload it to my account at photobucket. just copy and paste the address of the picture in place of the old one in the code and you are set.
It is also pretty easy to change font colors. If anyone wants to know more just let me know.

Thank you all so much, I have been wondering how to do this since I started looking at other people's cool templates. But since I just stumbled onto the Forums I think we can all safely assume that I'm cre8buzz retarded. Hopefully this will make me look smart for the new people.
