Which crafts?
September 30, 2007 02:11

What kinds of crafts do you enjoy?

I like to try a lot of different things, knitting, sewing, soft toy making, cross stitch, long stitch etc etc I like them all but I've yet to find a craft that holds my attention for long.

Oh, I have been there! Seems like I get it figured out then I move on. Lucky for us there are so many crafts to choose from!

Exactly, it's like it's challenge and once that's over I need to find something else.

New here - but thought I'd jump right in...

Now lampworking glass beads is a dream of mine that hopefully will come true sometime this winter - my hubby is re-making part of our detached garage into a studio for me & then....I get to get a torch and start learning! I love making jewelry - beadweaving, crystals, silver wire, chainmaille - I go round and round - and then there's always something else out there to learn! Glad to have found this forum!

Cool group! I have a long list. I'm a Fiber Artist: Millenery, quilting, Victorian costume draping and design, Jewelry making (as long as I don't weld -- yet), rugmaking, soft toys, machine knitting (I have a Bond machine), basketry...just about any fiber art. I know there's more. Oh, and Buzz, I have a 10 by 13 foot office/studio. I call it a studio because it makes me feel better and I have nice furniture and equipment. Donna

Lol! Well, the 'studio' is definitely a 'work in progress' - currently the wiring is done (sort of), no walls yet, no insulation (its still in rolls on the floor) - no ceiling either - but we have the stuff to do it - waiting for time and cooperating weather to get back at it. Realistically not thinking I'll be 'in there' before spring - but that gives me time to save up for that torch! Hmmmm....that would be a great Christmas present....

Wow, Sew -and-so - you do have a list! I have never tried baskets - it always intimidated me - looked too complicated.

I agree this is a great group!

LOL, I'm the same way - Dolly Dabbler. I've done T-shirt stuff, painted ceramic things, cross-stitch, kiddie crafts and my most recent venture has been beading. Right now everything is packed up, but I would love to get back to it.

I tend to dabble because even though I'm "crafty" I'm not really "arty" - I don't have a true artistic sense that gives me the edge to go from "nice work" to "beautiful!"

I tend to start one craft and then move on to the next one MID WAY through!

I like scrapbooking and we usually do tons of kiddie crafts around here.

Sounds like I'm the only soapmaker around. That might be one more people could get into.

Here's the warning though--it's addicting. HIGHLY addicting.

Don't say I didn't warn you and PM me for more info.
