If you are considering personal development to enrich your life, here are some tips from our experts about the best course of action to pursue.

Read and Listen. Engage in a personal development reading program that includes biographies of successful people. Peruse the self-improvement aisle of your bookstore. The more you read, the more you'll see what all successful people have in common - and how they more than likely had beginnings similar to yours.

Get Clarity. Define what you really want in life. Think it through and write down all the roles you play - parent, spouse, friend, associate, neighbor, leader. Focus on your roles, and make sure your values are in alignment with what you really want.

Develop a Belief System. If you don't believe you can succed, then you won't. Develop a belief system that can help you visualize your success.

Set Goals. If you don't write down yo goals, they become simple dreams. Write them down and be disciplined about attaining them.

Make Incremental Steps. Do soomething each and every day to move toward your goals. Anything is better than nothing.

Take a Long-term Perspective Most people overestimate their ability for short-term change, but underestimate their ability for long-term change. Be sure to create a long-term perspective on how you would like your life to be.

Find a Coach or Mentor. Find a coach or mentor who has a proven track record and is willing to invest time in helping you achieve your goals.

Connect with Like Minds. Create a mastermind group that will offer you encouragement when you start to feel discouraged about your personal development goals.
