We're growing more and more all the time--so I'm curious as to what all y'all are working on right now? Are you pointed toward publishing you're current WIP (Work in Progress) or just writing for fun.
Currently, I have to admit I've hardly written a word about anything, but I have a good excuse being 8 months pregnant :D I need to write up a few blog posts over the next day or so but fictionwise, while I have quite a few things "in progress" I haven't touched them for a couple of months now.
8 months pregnant is a good excuse for anything! Just pamper yourself!
Since I don't have that excuse, I'm trying to finish a novel in order to turn in before Christmas. It's historical fiction, along the same lines as my other books.
Still plugging away--or pretending to--on my next historical. I've hit a nasty slump, though. It's sad when folding laundry looks tempting.
I'm working on the second book in my series, The 13th Reality. I was having a hard time with a plot element but had a eureka epiphany moment yesterday. Suh-weet!
My ideal would be to finish one of my ideas and try to get it published. I have never tried anything like it before though so it makes me a little nervous. Perhaps that is an underlying cause of my horrible procrastination. :)
I was working on a middle reader fantasy for girls, but then got sidetracked by an online writing class I promised I would take. The writing for it is pretty intense, so my novel is on hold for a bit. But I'm learning so much and as I do the class assignments, I'm making connections on how to use the concepts in my novel--when I get back to it.
I'm trying to write a short, short story but I'm so stuck! I've started over three times but I just can't get it to work.
I'm working on my NaNo project. I've got high hopes for this one.
I'm excited that I'm finally working on something. :D
I'm doing NaNo and I didn't know what I was going to write as of November 1. But I too all your advice here and just started writing. The first couple pages are pretty crappy and I've gone back and added more to the beginning (because I just couldn't stop thinking about how it needed to change). But I'm plugging away at 10,000 words trying to catch up.
This is a new experience for me though, it's thrilling. I've always wanted to write a novel and now I am!
Wanna hear a premise of my plot? (If not stop reading now.)
Grandpa dies. It was quite sudden and unexpected. Grandma died several years ago. Grandpa and Grandma had 6 children and at the time of Grandpa's death 17 grandchildren, including Emily.
When the will is read most the grandchildren were given something, some token of Grandpa and some college money. Except for Ems. She was given the family farm. The farm that's located in New England, which considering that she's 14 years old seems a little odd. Even more odd is the condition of the will that in order for her to receive it she needs to live there starting immediately.
So she and her family move from their home elsewhere (not sure where that was yet) and move onto this farm. She received a sealed letter from the lawyer from her Gramps telling her that there is a reason that he can't explain that she needs to be here- but she needs to find it.
So she figures out that there is a secret door and gets through it and follows a path through the walls of her ancient farmhouse and into the earth. She comes out at the side of a waterfall. When she walks through the waterfall she's shrinks until she's two inches tall.
Then the adventure begins...
