Some writers enjoy a quiet park bench. Others enjoy one side of their kitchen table. Where do you enjoy writing?
I've always agreed with Virginia Woolf. A room of one's own is important. At least it is to me. I like quiet, dark spaces. Little nooks where the wind whines through cracked windows, but the mood is still calm. I like midnight. I like to seat myself beneath the moon, content in its flickering shadow.
I don't have a choice at the moment since my laptop is experiencing some difficulties. So I'm in the family room surrounded by choas. I listen to pandora.com and crank it up in my headphones to block out the tv, the fighting children, the crying baby. It's working mostly.
It sounds like you have a lot going on in your space! I'm glad your method is working right now. Also, I hope you're able to find somewhere a bit more private soon.
Any space is a good space as long as there's writing.
